Thank you all so much for celebrating with me this week!  I wish I had prizes for everyone, but alas there are only three - one for each year of blogging.

The winner of the Nursery Rhymes Cartridge is Jessica (who) said...
"Happy Blog-iversary!! Your get-together looks like fun and that salad...yummy!
Thanks for letting me celebrate with you!"

The winner of the Yourstory kit is Theresa (Scrapper69 who) said...
"OMGOSH Susan! I LOVE that book that was made! It's sooooo pretty using the Lori's Garden Cartridge! I Gotta make one! :o) Thanks for a chance to win a YourStory! :o)"

And finally, the winner of the CGull Cricut Tool Kit is Scrappin Dhilly (who) said...
"I'm going to steal that recipe from you, it looked delicious in your picture! What a fun week of giveaways and celebration! You are too generous, I really appreciate the opportunity to win!"

CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS!!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I mentioned an Imagine Face Lift in my title.  I was referring to the Cricut Imagine getting a face lift, not me imagining a face lift!!   The first photo below is the Imagine as it comes from the factory.  Note the grey trim on the white machine.

I took advantage of the new Imagine trim sale at Cricut dot com and purchased the pink trim set.  Check out my Imagine machine now!!!!  How cute is that pink trim on my Imagine machine???

Even better, look at the Imagine on the desk next to the Expression 2.  I have a splash of cricut colors going on in my scrap room!!!

Again, thank you for being here with me this week.  I really do enjoy blogging and sharing my love of paper crafting with you and I appreciate that you take the time to visit my blog and leave you thoughts!!!

Blog-iversary Celebration Day 3

Welcome to the third day of my Blog-iversary Celebration.  Today I am offering another fun Blog-iversary gift to one lucky winner, but first I thought I should answer a few questions from previous days.

1. What is the name of the dinnerware?  It is Bordallo Pinneiro, and is made in Portugal.  It comes in a pink, green, yellow, etc.  I have the pink and use it for Easter and girlie events.  I also have a yellow cake pedestal cake plate with bunnies that is great for Easter and summer! I love collecting dishes and glassware, and especially the Bordallo!

2.  How did you make that Princess Cake?  In spirit of full disclosure, I did not make the  princess cake.  It is a photo of a princess cake made with the Cricut Birthday Cakes cartridge and was used to advertise the cake machine.  I "may have" nabbed the photo to use as a birthday cake photo for the blog-iversary!!

3. Can you share your Chicken Salad Recipe, it looks yummy? The recipe was originally published in Cooking Light magazine and I have been making this recipe (with variations) for the last 8 years or so.  I will give you the recipe as I made it for the luncheon:

Curried Chicken Salad
Salad:
4.5 Cups of cooked chicken breast, cubed
2 Cups of red grape halves
1 20oz can of pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve juice for apple bath)
1 large apple, diced (put the diced apple in the pineapple juice to help prevent browning.  Drain juice and add apples only to the salad).
1/3 Cup of craisins
1/2 Cup of sliced almonds

Combine in a LARGE bowl and mix well.  Prepare dressing and mix to combine.

Dressing:
3/4 Cup of light Mayo
2 Tablespoons of Honey
1 Tablespoon of Curry (this DOES NOT make the dress "hot")
1 Tablespoon fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 Teaspoon each of salt and pepper - or to taste

Whisk together and mix with the salad ingredients.  Chill four hours prior to serving.  Serve over mixed greens.

Blog-iversary Celebration Day 2

Welcome to day two of my blog-iversary celebration!   Today's blog-iversary gift is a complete Yourstory set - pictured above.   I do want to assure the lucky winner that this IS a NEW set, though I confess the outside of the box may leave you with questions.

Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned how Duncan the Wonder Dog thinks that all deliveries to our house are for him?  Yes, he did indeed attack the box in which the Yourstory arrived.  Of course when I told him that he was being a bad dog, he gave a blank look as if he had no idea what that meant!  Probably because most of the time I assure him that is a sweet boy, a handsome boy, a good boy..... This concept of "bad dog" had no frame of reference.  Sigh....

So why should you be interested in the Yourstory set?  Because you can do two awesome things with the Yourstory.  You can laminate documents, cards, tickets and other memorabilia for your scrapbooks  - AND - you can bind books!!

Examples of great uses for this machine:

  • My mother and my mother-in-law both like to receive 8 x 8 inch themed scrapbooks and with the Yourstory they can now receive customized bound books!!!
  • Think of the great customized teacher gifts - a photo book featuring highlights from the year!
  • Theme books - prom book, dance recital book, baseball team book, etc
  • AND - Girlfriend make & takes!!!

My scrappy girlfriends had no problems assembling five double sided pages (for a total of ten pages) with elements from the Imagine's Lori's Garden cartridge and binding them in Yourstory chocolate 4 x 6 inch books.

Happy Blog-iversary To Me - Week Long Party

Happy Blog-iversary to Busy with the Cricky.  Back in June of 2008 I published my first tiny post and officially started Busy with the Cricky!!!  In the last three years I have learned SO MUCH about blogging, about my Cricut machines, and about paper crafting.  Thank you for taking this fun journey with me - especially those of you who have been with me for all three years!

To celebrate my blog-iversary I have decided to host a week long birthday/blog-iversary party and offer a few birthday gifts to you my readers!  I will be giving away several items this week, each one related to the wonderful world of Cricut!!

To get us started, the first blog-iversary gift is the Nursery Rhymes cartridge.  This cartridge may seem like it is all about children, but it has some fun cuts for cards, holidays, and life events (a great stork!).  Please leave a comment below and you will be entered to win Nursery Rhymes.  I will announce all of the winners at the end of the week!!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Before I close today, remember that I teased you with images from the Scrappy-Girlfriend-Luncheon I hosted last Saturday?  Yes I have a few more photos to share.

Pictured above left to right, MFK (My friend Kathy), Ms. Sally, Suzanne, Beth and Kimberly.
